vService is a cloud-based aftersales solution for diagnostics and software updates from Vector that offers a combination of over-the-wire and over-the-air connectivity to perform diagnostics, fleet monitoring and software updates. The cloud-based software platform offers three web applications, each tailored to the tasks of diagnostic authors, aftersales teams and service technicians. For wired connections, the cloud-based software solution uses the SAE J2534 and ISO D-PDU API standards. For over-the-air connections, Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics (SOVD) or a dedicated vehicle API is used. vService enables the continuous distribution of new diagnostic content based on new development data. To solve problems faster, the software also supports remote collaboration between workshops and centralized support. Service technicians are motivated to share knowledge during troubleshooting and repair, creating a collaborative service platform. This innovative approach minimizes vehicle downtime, increases operational efficiency and the satisfaction of the professionals involved. To make the management and distribution of software updates as simple as possible, vService supports update campaigns in compliance with UNECE guideline R156. Vehicle manufacturers select the appropriate transfer options for an update without having to duplicate campaigns or synchronize administrative data afterwards. With the option of wired transmission, independent workshops are also able to install updates. (jr)
