Vector Informatik and QNX signed a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday at the Vector campus in Stuttgart. Together, the two companies are developing the Foundational Vehicle Software Platform – a new software basis for the next generation of SDVs (Software-Defined Vehicles) that shortens development times and reduces the growing complexity of software integration in the automotive sector.
The platform combines Vector’s secure middleware technology with the safety-certified QNX operating system. The aim is to provide a powerful, scalable and secure software environment that serves as the central basis for modern vehicle architectures. As part of the existing integration between QNX and TTTech Auto, the platform can also be optionally supplemented with the MotionWise Schedule – a deterministic, time-controlled scheduling algorithm from TTTech Auto. This opens up additional flexibility in the temporal coordination of platform components and applications. (oe)
