Qualcomm Technologies and Wayve have announced a strategic collaboration to develop a production-ready end-to-end AI platform for advanced driver-assistance and automated driving systems (ADAS/AD). The solution combines Wayve AI Driver with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride platform, including active safety software. The pre-integrated platform is designed to reduce development efforts for automakers and accelerate the introduction of advanced driving features—from hands-free driving to future “eyes-off” automation applications. At the same time, the architecture remains scalable and supports various vehicle classes as well as global regulatory requirements.
Wayves‘ AI software is based on a data-driven, end-to-end approach that learns driving behavior directly from real-world traffic data and can adapt to different regions and traffic conditions. Snapdragon Ride provides the necessary computing power in a safety-certified architecture featuring redundant systems, real-time monitoring, and secure system isolation.
The partners aim to offer automakers an open alternative to proprietary ADAS platforms. In addition, Qualcomm and Wayve are exploring the use of Snapdragon SoCs for future Level 4 autonomous robotaxi applications. (oe)
