dSPACE: Simulation Models for Two-Wheeler Development

The model covers the entire spectrum of driving behavior, from agile, lightweight scooters to powerful, heavy-duty street bikes. (© dSPACE)

dSPACE is expanding its Automotive Simulation Models (ASM) with the new ASM Bike simulation library. The solution was specifically designed for the development and validation of two-wheeled vehicles and covers the entire spectrum, from lightweight scooters to high-performance motorcycles. The model is designed for real-time applications and can be seamlessly integrated into the existing ASM toolchain.

When combined with the tool AURELION, the solution also enables realistic 3D visualization and physics-based sensor simulation. Together with ASM Traffic, it is possible to simulate complex traffic scenarios for the development of sensor-based driver assistance systems (Advanced Rider Assistance Systems, ARAS).

Applications include, among others, the development and validation of stability functions such as cornering ABS and rear-wheel lift control, as well as driver assistance systems such as collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control for motorcycles. In addition, ASM Bike supports the testing of powertrains through the integration of high-resolution powertrain models. Like all ASM libraries, ASM Bike was developed in accordance with the principles of ISO 26262. (oe)
