IPG Automotive introduces Xpack, a new product line that will unite the company’s entire hardware portfolio in the future. The aim is to offer users a clear structure, simple integration, and a future-proof basis for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications.
The previous Xpack4 will continue under the name Xpack Real-time System (Xpack RTS). The modular platform for real-time simulations is suitable for HIL applications in all development domains and combines a large number of computing cores with a newly developed CompactPCI Serial backplane. In close conjunction with CarMaker, Xpack RTS enables efficient testing of complex vehicle systems.
With the new Enhanced Real-time PC (Enhanced RTPC), IPG Automotive is expanding its product line with a powerful server platform. Twelve computing cores, high data bandwidth, PCIe-based modules, and communication standards such as Automotive Ethernet make the system particularly suitable for computationally intensive model calculations. An adapter bridge allows the Enhanced RTPC to connect directly to Xpack RTS, combining precise IO interfaces with high performance—including integrated security features such as MACsec for the software-defined vehicle.
In addition to RTS and RTPC, the Xpack family also includes solutions such as SensInject for time-synchronous injection of sensor data, SensCompute for sensor data calculation, and the Fail Safe Tester for simulating electrical faults. (oe)
