Quintauris and IAR are combining their expertise to advance the development of safety-critical RISC-V software in the automotive sector. The provider of RISC-V-based processor technologies and the specialist for embedded software tools are integrating the IAR Embedded Development Platform into the Quintauris reference architecture RT-Europa. At its core is the certified IAR compiler, which will become an integral part of the platform in the future and is expected to be supplemented by automated build tools and modern debugging and testing functions.
The combination of Quintauris‘ RISC-V architecture, tailored for real-time processors, and IAR’s functionally certified toolchain creates a production-ready development environment designed to meet the high safety requirements of the automotive industry. RT-Europa specifically addresses real-time applications in vehicles, while the IAR toolchain is aligned with established standards such as ISO 26262.
Pedro Lopez, Market Strategy Officer at Quintauris, emphasizes the importance of cooperation in establishing a reliable RISC-V software ecosystem in the automotive environment. IAR CPO Thomas Andersson sees the partnership as an opportunity to significantly expand the company’s own offering for RISC-V developers. (oe)
