Release 14.0 of the CarMaker product family from IPG Automotive offers a range of new features such as additional sensor models, even more realistic simulation environments and the option of modeling gigaliners.
In addition to autonomous vehicle traffic with different traffic densities and maneuvers, pedestrians can now also be flexibly controlled with the CarMaker simulation tools. The supported sensors for the perception of the environment and traffic have been further improved and a parameterizable 4D radar model has been added. At the same time, the options for simulating weather conditions such as rain, snow or a low sun have also been expanded.
TruckMaker 14.0 offers a highly detailed representation of the interior, which can be experienced with VR glasses. This is particularly helpful when testing handover routines. The new release also allows the simulation of coupling and uncoupling processes and thus the modeling of gigaliners with many trailers. This means that even more vehicle variations and their corresponding force distribution can be represented virtually. (jr)
