Infineon’s AURIX TC4Dx features an advanced multi-core architecture with the new 500MHz TriCore with six cores, all operating in lock-step for functional safety. With a Parallel Processing Unit (PPU), the MCU provides a platform for the development of embedded AI-based use cases and automotive applications such as engine control, battery management systems or vehicle motion control. The MCU is supported by a strong software partner ecosystem and includes network accelerators to improve Ethernet and CAN communication as well as the latest communication features such as 5 Gbit/s Ethernet, PCIe, 10Base-T1S and CAN-XL. This increased network throughput and connectivity provides customers with the performance and flexibility they need to implement E/E architectures. The AURIX TC4Dx’s holistic approach to functional safety meets the highest functional safety requirements according to ISO26262 ASIL-D. The MCU also meets the latest ISO/SAE21434 cybersecurity standards, including support for post-quantum cryptography. The AURIX TC4Dx is currently available in samples and will go into mass production in 2025. (jr)
