As reported by Automobilwoche, the current CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) of Mercedes-Benz, Daniel Eitler, has been given additional responsibility: in the newly created position of Chief Data & AI Officer, he is to drive forward the relevant tech topics at the Swabian company. Daniel Eitler has been responsible for the cybersecurity fortunes of Mercedes-Benz as Global CISO since 2021. In addition to this role, he will now also be responsible for driving forward the topics of artificial intelligence and data management from May 2025. The car manufacturer is bundling the global cybersecurity organization, the Chief Data Officer role and the technical management of the AI organization under the umbrella of „Global Cyber Security, Data and AI“. Before joining Mercedes, Eitler held various positions at BMW between 2012 and 2021. (oe)
