With Release 15.0, IPG Automotive introduces the latest generation of its CarMaker product family, strengthening the connection to the Synopsys Silver platform in particular. Thanks to the deeper integration of virtual ECUs, software and system testing is now possible at a very early stage of development. Direct access to the Silver Virtual Bus allows multiple vECUs to be integrated from a single instance, accelerating test sequences and making development processes significantly more efficient in line with the shift-left principle.
The latest version of CarMaker also offers significant improvements in the area of ADAS and AV. Reliable ground truth data is extremely important in the development of autonomous systems. The continuously optimized ground truth sensor is a central source for delivering highly accurate and configurable sensor data that can be individually adapted to project requirements. Whether for validating perception algorithms or improving simulation accuracy, the sensor helps reduce complexity and accelerate development. In addition, the version offers optimized rendering and ray tracing algorithms for higher recognition quality, as well as generic ray tracing access for maximum flexibility and customization.
Another focus is on optimizing endurance testing. CarMaker 15.0 accelerates the shift from „road to rig“: improved interactions between road users, more realistic intersection models, and optimized path planning deliver more meaningful tests and facilitate a seamless transition from real-world driving tests to virtual driving tests on the test bench.
The MotorcycleMaker software is tailored to the specific requirements of developing motorized two-wheelers. In the new release, electric drives for two-wheelers can be flexibly configured and simulated with a high degree of realism. (oe)
