Intel’s first proprietary discrete graphics unit (dGPU) Intel Arc Graphics for Automotive is expected to be commercially deployed in vehicles as early as 2025, ushering in a new era of artificial intelligence in the vehicle cockpit. Intel is adding the dGPU to its existing portfolio of AI-optimized SoCs for software-defined vehicles. As the software is fully compatible with the integrated and discrete GPU, a single vehicle platform can be developed that can be used across all trim levels. Entry and mid-range models can make optimal use of the Intel SDV SoC, while higher-end vehicles benefit from the additional performance of the dGPU. (jr)
