dSPACE sets a decisive course for the future: The Hanselmann family, the owners of the company, arrange the generational change and transfer the company to a new group structure. At the same time, the final decision is made to build a new production site in Paderborn. As company founder Dr. Herbert Hanselmann and CEO Dr. Carsten Hoff announced today at a staff meeting, the three children of the Hanselmann family are taking over the company shares and thus the entrepreneurial responsibility. With this generational change, the entire dSPACE Group will be brought together under the umbrella of a holding company – a future-proof model that preserves the independence of the globally active family business.

CEO Dr. Carsten Hoff emphasized: “The orderly generational change, the strategic realignment and the investment in the new location create ideal conditions for continuing our success story as a global, independent family business.”

Despite difficult market conditions in the European automotive industry, dSPACE was able to continue its growth trajectory in 2024: Sales increased by 14% to around 460 million euros, while the number of employees worldwide rose to over 2,800 – including around 1,700 at the headquarters in Paderborn.

With the planned new building in Almepark Paderborn, dSPACE is making a targeted investment in the future. A modern production site is being built on the 6.5-hectare site, where around 400 employees will be working in production and engineering from mid-2027. The new building will enable more efficient processes; at the same time, it will free up space for development at the existing campus on Rathenaustraße, which can be used as additional office and laboratory space in the future.
