Vector: Cooperation with Hubject to promote Plug&Charge technology

Vector and Hubject have announced their collaboration to further advance Plug&Charge (PnC) technology. Through this collaboration, OEMs and charging station manufacturers can now obtain Hubject QA (pre-production) and production certificates via the Vector Security Manager with the latest release of the CANoe version 18 SP3 development and test tool. The Vector Security Manager is the link between the Vector tools and the OEM-specific security implementations. It allows security functions to be used uniformly in the tools. Hubject QA and Production certificates are important for testing EVs and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) with the CANoe Test Package EV or CANoe Test Package EVSE from Vector. This integration ensures that both EVs and charging stations meet the ISO 15118 standard for interoperability, compliance and market readiness.

PnC offers a seamless user experience. It eliminates the need for physical cards or mobile apps to authenticate and start the charging process. This simplifies the charging process and increases the attractiveness of EVs for potential buyers. Technically, PnC uses digital certificates and encryption to ensure a secure connection between EV and EVSE, protecting user data and the charging infrastructure. (jr)
