Keysight and HEAD acoustics have successfully conducted an interoperability test for next-generation eCall in Böblingen. The test confirmed the end-to-end validation of NG-eCall over 4G and 5G networks as well as fallbacks to 2G/3G. The combination of Keysight’s UXM-based RF test platform and the HEAD acoustics measurement environment (ACQUA, labCORE) ensures complete testing of voice quality, network connectivity, and standard compliance.
The tests support upcoming international standards such as CEN EN 17240:2024 and GB 45672-2025, which will require standardized voice quality testing from 2027 onwards. Key results included verified 4G/5G IMS SIP communication with end-to-end audio, successful testing of legacy eCall over 2G/3G, and calibration of delays and audio levels for compliance testing.
