Qualcomm has appointed Wassim Chourbaji (pictured) as Senior Vice President and President for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, effective immediately. He will be responsible for the company’s strategic direction and growth in the region, as well as for further developing business activities across the various market segments.
Chourbaji has been with Qualcomm for more than 20 years and has held various leadership positions during that time. Most recently, he led the company’s business in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) and was responsible for the company’s government affairs activities throughout the EMEA region.
As part of the leadership transition, Enrico Salvatori will assume the role of Chairman for EMEA. He will also continue to lead the automotive business in the region until his planned retirement in June 2027. Salvatori has led the EMEA business for more than two decades and has played a key role in expanding Qualcomm’s presence in the mobile, automotive, industrial, and IoT sectors. (oe)
