Valeo is presenting its latest virtual electronic control units and sensor models at CES in Las Vegas, which are available via the AWS Marketplace. The solution, the Valeo Virtualised Hardware Lab, enables engineers to test and develop software for autonomous driving, infotainment systems and powertrain functions – completely without physical hardware. Thanks to a scalable, cloud-based environment, supported by AWS, the development time of ECU software can be accelerated by up to 40%, according to Valeo.

In addition, Valeo will present the Valeo Cloud Hardware Lab, the first Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) as-a-Service solution. This connects Valeo-managed HIL test systems to the AWS infrastructure and provides engineers worldwide with remote access to large HIL systems. Through an AWS-hosted workspace, developers can use customised, versioned test environments that are directly linked to the HIL hardware. The Valeo Cloud Hardware Lab promotes collaboration across locations and time zones and enables a more efficient use of resources.

Valeo is also presenting Panovision, an innovative display technology for greater safety and comfort. The virtual, floating images of Valeo Panovision, combined with the augmented reality head-up display (HUD), place all important information directly in the driver’s field of vision. This minimises distraction and focuses attention on the road.

Valeo Panovision also impresses with a sleek cockpit design in which displays are elegantly concealed in the dashboard, while providing excellent visibility for all occupants. An innovative reflective coating on the windscreen, combined with the specially developed Valeo Local Dimming display backlighting, optimises power consumption and improves viewing contrast. At the same time, Valeo Panovision offers the occupants full brightness and an immersive experience. The system is compatible with polarised sunglasses and complies with all regulations for windscreens and fields of vision. (oe)
