At its meeting on March 19, 2025, the Supervisory Board of ZF Friedrichshafen AG elected Dr. Rolf Breidenbach as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He succeeds Dr. Heinrich Hiesinger, who has been a member of the ZF Supervisory Board since 2021 and its Chairman for the past three years. Breidenbach, a proven expert in the automotive industry, has been a member of the Board since March 2023. Ingrid Jägering is set to replace the departing Hiesinger as a new member of the ZF Supervisory Board.

Born in Bochum, Breidenbach studied mechanical engineering and economics at RWTH Aachen University and holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering. This was followed by positions in industry and in a technical service company. From 1995 to 2003, he worked for the management consultancy McKinsey, where he was a partner for the last four years. From the beginning of 2004 until 2022, he was Chairman of the Management Board of Hella GmbH & Co. KGaA. Breidenbach has been a member of the ZF Supervisory Board since March 2023.

Dr. Hiesinger has been a member of the ZF Supervisory Board since January 2021 and took over as Chairman at the beginning of 2022. Hiesinger had signaled early on that he would not be available for a second term of office after March 2028 due to his personal life plans. It is foreseeable that not all key decisions for the future of ZF will have been made by this time.

In order to avoid a change in the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board in the middle of this decisive phase of the transformation and to enable a long-term solution now, Hiesinger had offered to make his office and mandate available early. (jr)
